ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Miles Mallory (Beltsville, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) led the Yellow Jackets with 22 points, seven assists and five blocks as the second-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team outscored Ferrum 85-70 in ODAC action on Saturday evening to extend its win streak to 17 games and its home win streak to 59 games.

How it Happened:

  • Junior Will Coble (Charlotte, N.C./Davidson Day) buried a three-pointer to spark a 7-0 start for the Yellow Jackets. The Panthers scored eight straight points before a follow by Mallory gave R-MC a 9-8 edge six minutes into the contest. Two triples by freshman Keishawn Pulley, Jr. (Louisa, Va./St. Christopher's) and a jumper by freshman Bryce Scott (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day) put R-MC on top 17-12 with 13:45 left in the first period. FC used an 8-2 spurt to go up 20-19. A layup by senior Josh Talbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) capped a 10-2 run as the Yellow Jackets took a 29-22 lead with six minutes remaining. A trey by sophomore Vincent Payne (Frederick, Md./St. Maria Goretti) gave R-MC an eight-point edge at 34-26 with 4:25 left. The Panthers trailed 36-30 before Mallory and Talbert both had four points in a 10-0 spurt to close the first half, giving the Yellow Jackets a 46-30 lead at intermission. Mallory had 12 points, six assists and three blocks, while Talbert added 10 points and three assists.
  • Mallory hit a long jumper and junior Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) had a follow to start the second half as R-MC went up 50-30 with 19 minutes remaining in the contest. A three-pointer by Pulley gave the home team its largest lead of 22 points at 59-37 with 15:40 left. The Panthers cut the deficit to 13 with three minutes remaining before three free throws by freshman Jabril Robinson (Derwood, Md./South Kent Prep) pushed the advantage back to 16 at 82-66 with two minutes left before recording the 85-70 victory.

  • Mallory had five blocked shots to give him 247 for his career, a program and ODAC record.
  • R-MC had three players score in double figures. Mallory led with 22 points, while Talbert added 19 and Pulley pitched in 16.
  • Mallory was 11 for 16 from the floor. Talbert was 9 for 14 on field goals, while Pulley hit 5 of 7 three-point attempts.
  • R-MC had a 27-0 advantage on bench points.
  • Mallory has 1,327 career points, moving him past Bob Minutella (1963-67), Justin Short (2005-09), Bryan Vacca (1979-83) and Joey Allen (1973-77) into 18th place on R-MC's career scoring list.
  • Talbert has 1,130 career points. He moved past Dan Prescott (1990-94) and Jordan Brown (2007-11) to sit 34th on R-MC's career scoring list.

  • R-MC extended its home win streak to 59 games, a program record and the longest current streak in all NCAA divisions. The Division III record is 62, set by North Park from 1984-1988.
  • The Yellow Jackets extended their win streak to 17 games. R-MC has won 30 straight ODAC contests over the past three seasons and is 60-2 in conference contests over the past five seasons.
  • R-MC is 10-0 all-time against Ferrum.
