HOBOKEN, NJ (January 7, 2023) -- On the road on Saturday afternoon, the King's College men's basketball team trailed Stevens Institute of Technology, 39-25, at the half, but despite outscoring the hosts 41-38 in the second half, the Monarchs fell, 77-66, in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match up. Stevens (8-6, 5-0 MAC Freedom) jumped out to an explosive 10-0 start before a three from sophomore Chris Patton with 15:23 to go in the opening half put the Monarchs in the scoring column. King's (5-8, 1-5 MAC Freedom) hung with the hot-shooting Ducks before heading into the break trailing, 39-25.
Thanks to an impressive 48 percent (14-29) shooting in the second half, King's was able to close within six, 53-47, off a fast break layup by first year Brendan Lonergan off a steal from senior Tyler Faux with 10:08 remaining.
