STAUNTON, Va. – If you blinked, you missed it. And it was a doozy.
With EMU trailing by two and the final seconds ticking away, Landon Swingler took a pass in the corner from Mark Burkholder, shot the three and watched it bounce up and in to give EMU a 60-58 buzzer beating win over Mary Baldwin.

Highlights
First Half
After MBU took an early 2-0 lead, back-to-back threes from DaiJordan Brown and Swingler gave EMU a 6-2 lead. Two more Swingler layups and an Aviwe Mahlong bucket pushed the Royals lead to 12-2 and then to 15-5 when the teams traded threes. After a Swingler free throw gave EMU a 20-11 lead, the Fighting Squirrels answered with a 7-0 run to pull within two before Brown drilled a three to keep EMU in front. The teams traded buckets to 25-all until MBU was able to pull ahead and take a 36-28 lead into the half.
Second Half
EMU came out blazing in the second half and used points from Mark Burkholder, Julien Hagerman and Swingler, to go on a 7-0 run and pull within one, 36-35. MBU was able to maintain the lead but EMU was able to keep them in check with threes and timely buckets. Trailing by six, baskets from Mahlong and CJ McCord, once again, pulled EMU within one. With just over a minute left, Mahlong hit a three to cut the Fighting Squirrels lead to 58-57. Swingler committed a foul on MBU's Brett Asbury, who missed the front end of a one-and-one, setting up Swingler's monster shot.
