RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Connecticut College men's basketball team earned its seventh straight victory in dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon, racing past the College of Mount Saint Vincent by a 75-38 final in non-conference action at the Sharp Center.

The Camels (7-1 overall) turned in a complete performance, punishing the Dolphins on both ends of the floor. Conn shot 51 percent and connected on a season-high 14 three-pointers, with Billy Whelan (Hamilton, Mass.) leading four players in double figures with a season-high 15 points. The Camels also held their opponent below 40 points for the third time this season and limited CMSV to 25-percent shooting.

Whelan led the barrage from the outside, going 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. Ben Rice (Hanson, Mass.) finished with 11 points and added a game-high eight rebounds, and David Murray (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) and RJ Casey (Nashville, Tenn.) chipped in 10 points apiece.

For the third straight game, the Camels never trailed at any point. Conn came away with points on its first four possessions of the game to open up a quick 10-0 lead. Murray got things started with a jumper in the lane, and Jarron Flynn (Roslindale, Mass.) followed with a fast-break layup. Whelan and Rice then drilled back-to-back threes to force CMSV to call a timeout.

The Dolphins never recovered, going nearly seven minutes without a field goal while shooting 0-for-7 and committing five turnovers to start the game. Things got worse for the hosts in the final 9:23 of the stanza, as Conn pulled away behind a 23-7 spurt that was capped by a Murray jumper to beat the halftime buzzer.

The Camels shot 60 percent in the first half and led 42-17 at the break. Rice netted all 11 of his points by intermission while Whelan supplied nine. Each drained three triples in the half as Conn enjoyed its largest halftime lead of the season.

The three-point parade continued in the second half as Conn's first five field goals came from deep. Whalen stayed hot and drilled the first trey of the string, and Elias Espinosa (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) came off the bench to add a pair. Cam Schainfeld (Newton, Mass.) and Casey also got into the act, and the Camels cruised the rest of the way.

Conn's final three-pointer of the afternoon came from Martin Wilson (Boston, Mass.), giving the visitors their largest lead at 72-30. The Camels were also efficient from long range, shooting a season-high 52 percent (14-for-27) for the game.

DJ Tucker paced CMSV (1-4 overall) with eight points.

Conn's seven-game winning streak is its longest since the 2000-01 season, when head coach Lynn Ramage's squad opened the season with seven straight wins en route to an 18-7 campaign.
