KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team scored the final 15 points of the game as the Wolves came from behind to defeat Russell Sage College 63-59 in an Empire 8 Conference game at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
The win closes the season for Keuka College with a 4-19 record, going 4-11 within the Empire 8 Conference.
The Wolves were led by Devin Milton (Opelousas, La. / Beau Chene) with a game-high 24 points. He also led the Wolves in rebounding with eight. Seniors Jahmr Jordan (Albany, N.Y. / Albany) and Lorenzo Bicknese (Somers, N.Y. / Somers) each added 11 in the win.
Keuka College 63 vs. Russell Sage College 59
Keuka got an early lead on a three by Lorenzo Bicknese. The triple started a close start to the game. Keuka opened a 10-5 advantage, but the Gators rallied to take the lead themselves. Russell Sage led 18-15 midway through the first. The Wolves were able to get it down to two points, but Sage remained ahead. The visitors outscored Keuka 5-0 over the final six minutes of the half to lead 30-21.
Russell Sage pushed their lead to double figures. A three-point play by senior DJ Billings (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Odyssey) followed by a three by senior Bradley Stone (Rushville, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) made it 36-27 three minutes into the second. However, the Gators would extend their lead. Russell Sage led by 17, 49-32, with 12:21 left to play. The Wolves began to cut into the lead. Daniel Obunse (Queens, N.Y. / Flushing) hit a three. Nana Oteng (Queens, N.Y. / Martin Luther) followed that with a second-chance layup for the Wolves. Bicknese hit a three in transition and then Billings knocked one down to make it a 10-point game with seven minutes left. Sage would get an offensive rebound and layup to make it 59-48 with 5:12 left to play. It would be the final points the Gators scored. The Wolves quickly cut into the margin. With 1:49 left, Jahmr Jordan made a jumper to cut it to three. Following the basket, Devin Milton got a steal and layup to make it a one-point game. An errant pass by the Gators gave the ball back to the Wolves and Milton drained a three from the left wing to give Keuka the 61-59 lead. Russell Sage missed a three-point attempt and Milton got the rebound. The Wolves used the full length of the shot clock. Their attempt was off, but Lorenzo Bicknese rose to collect his fifth rebound of the game and keep the possession alive. Sage was forced to foul, sending Jahmr Jordan to the line with four seconds left. The senior made both as the Wolves rallied to defeat Russell Sage College 63-59 on Saturday.
