ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Buzz Anthony (Arnold, Md./Archbishop Spalding) had 20 points and nine assists as the top-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team shot 78% in the first half in defeating Bridgewater 80-51 in ODAC action on Tuesday evening.

How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets exploded to an 18-0 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. R-MC had six different players score, with five by senior DaQuan Morris (Philadelphia, Pa./Hill School) and four free throws by Anthony. The Eagles sank two free throws with 12:53 left in the first half and made their first field goal with 12:12 remaining. The Yellow Jackets made 11 of their first 12 field goal attempts in building a 29-8 lead with eight minutes left. A jumper by Anthony pushed the advantage to 25 at 37-12 with 4:45 remaining. Junior Josh Talbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) had two of the final three buckets in the half for R-MC as the home team led 48-19 at the break. The Yellow Jackets went 20 of 26 from the floor for 77% and were 16-20 (80%) inside the arc. Anthony had 17 points and six assists in the first half.
- Senior David Funderburg (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) had a layup to cap an 8-4 start to the second half as R-MC took its largest lead at 56-23 with 17:15 remaining. BC scored nine straight points to cut the deficit to 24 before a three-pointer by Anthony made it 59-32 with 13:13 left. Talbert hit a free throw and a layup to extend the lead back to 29 at 66-37 with 8:15 remaining. Junior Loginn Norton (Chesterfield, Va./James River) hit a jumper to push the lead back to 30 at 76-46 with three minutes left. Norton went 4 for 4 from the free throw line in the final two minutes as the Yellow Jackets recorded the 80-51 victory.
By The Numbers:
- R-MC held BC to its second-lowest point total of the season. It was the second-lowest total given up by the Yellow Jackets. R-MC has allowed an average of 49.5 points in the past two games.
- The Yellow Jackets had three players score in double figures. Anthony had 20, Talbert added 15 and sophomore Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) tallied 10, one away from his career high.
- R-MC shot 62% from the floor (32-52). The Yellow Jackets had a 46-20 advantage on points in the paint.
- Talbert went 7 for 7 from the floor. He is now shooting 58.4% from the field on the season, the top mark in the ODAC.
- R-MC had a 23-22 edge on the glass. Junior Miles Mallory (Beltsville, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) led the Yellow Jackets with five.
- The Yellow Jacket defense forced 21 turnovers. R-MC had a 26-9 edge on points off turnovers.
- Anthony had nine assists and Talbert dished out four.

- R-MC extended its win streak to nine.
- The Yellow Jackets extended their home winning streak to 40 games, the longest current streak in Division III.
- The Yellow Jackets have won 10 straight, 21 of 23 and 33 of the past 37 meetings with Bridgewater.
- Over the past nine games, R-MC is holding its opponents to 54.1 points per contest.
- Mallory's four blocks give him 142 for his career, the second-highest total in program history. Pat Holland owns the school record with 174.
- Anthony had nine assists to give him 661 in his career, the second-highest total in program history and the second-highest total in ODAC history.
- Anthony had 20 points to give him 1,694 for his career, the fourth-highest total in program history.
