Baruch 3-0 in CUNYAC, Defeat Medgar Evers (93-80)

The Baruch College Bearcats led from start to finish in recording a 93-80 road win at Medgar Evers College on Friday night.

The Bearcats took control in the final 2:21 of the first half finishing on an 11-2 run to go into the break leading 45-32.

They continued to lead by double-digits throughout most of the second half, but the host Cougars did manage on several occasions to get the deficit to under 10 points. The Bearcats responded each time with timely baskets as they finished with 93 points, which is their second highest point total this season.

Adnan Bajrami led the visiting Bearcats with 30 points while Mohamed Gueye added 21 points in 15 minutes of action shooting 9-of-12 from the field. 

Emil Purisic notched his fourth straight double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Jehmehl Fair had 11 points and six rebounds as the Bearcats raise their conference record to 3-0.

The Cougars struggled at home shooting just 11-of-28 from the free throw line and 7-of-33 from three.  Dante Simmons led their squad with 31 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.

The Bearcats will return home to the friendly confines of the ARC Arena next Wednesday, January 19, with a 7:30 p.m. contest against Lehman College (4-0 CUNYAC).
