WORCESTER -- The No. 23 ranked WPI men's basketball team kept its winning ways going with an 88-57 victory over Babson on Wednesday night to remain perfect in NEWMAC play improving to 11-1 on the season and 3-0 in the conference.  

The Engineers, who find themselves ranked in the D3Hoops.com Top 25 this week, were paced by a season-best 23-point effort from Colin McNamara (Arlington, MA) who registered his second 20-point effort of the season. McNamara also added five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a trio of treys on the evening.  The graduate student's only career game with more points was a 27-point performance at home versus MIT in the regular season finale of the 2018-2019 season.  

Babson (9-5, 2-1) was paced by a 14-point outint from Colin Bradanese (Billerica, MA) who was 7-for-10 from the field in the outing. Nate Amado (Hanson, MA) added another eight points as well as a pair of steals on the night.  

The first half of the first half included a lot of back and forth play, and Babson was able to get out to as much as a four-point lead, 12-8 with 12:30 remaining following a Spencer Cline (Mason, OH) layup, the team's largest lead of the game. But McNamara responded seconds later with a jumper and a Logan O'Donnell (Fiskill, NY) trey on the team's ensuing possession put the Engineers ahead for good.  

A 10-0 run, highlighted with back-to-back threes from McNamara and Kahleb Downing (Middletown, CT) gave WPI a 23-14 lead with 10 minutes to go in the first half, and the team would eventually surge to a 47-36 halftime lead thanks to a buzzer beating three from Downing heading into the intermission.  

Back-to-back buckets to start the second half from John Adams (Douglas, MA) built the lead to 15, and an 11-0 run midway through the second half that featured six points from Adams, made it 72-44, advantage Engineers. Adams finished with 14 points and eight rebounds on the night.  

An Ethan Rudometkin (Mililani, HI) and-one with 1:19 left in the game made it a 31-point advantage in favor of WPI, its largest lead of the evening, en route to the win. 

The Engineers finished the night shooting 50.7 percent from the field, while connecting on eight 3-pointers. Four of the team's five starters finished with double digit scoring as Aidan Callahan (Rowley, MA) added 13 points and Downing finished with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists.  O'Donnell paced the Crimson and Gray's bench effort with a season-best 11 points. 

WPI held Babson to just a 11.1 3-point field goal percentage and just two treys, while also outrebounding the Beavers 46-33 and outscoring Babson 15-2 in fastbreak opportunities. 

WPI looks to keep its momentum going on Saturday afternoon at Emerson at 1pm while Babson will also be back in NEWMAC action at home on Saturday against Wheaton, also at 1 pm.
