YORK, Pa. - Hood College's Mason Wang scored 19 of his game-high 25 points in the second half and the became the Blazers' all-time leading scorer in a 78-61 win at York (Pa.) in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.
Breaking the Record
- Wang drove for a tough layup to tie Cameron Cook's '14 record of 1,643 points with 13:30 to play. Later, Jack Fricka grabbed an offensive rebound and Hood swung the ball to Evan Wang, who found his twin brother open for a 3-pointer and the record. His 25 points on the evening extended his career total to 1,653.
Inside the Box Score
- Mason Wang went 5-for-10 from 3-point range on his way to an 8-of-14 night overall from the field. He was the only Blazer to go the free throw line, hitting 4-for-5.
- Fricka tied Wang for the team-high with seven boards.
- Evan Wang hit 5-of-8 behind the 3-point arc, finishing with 15 points. He and Will Pataki each had five assists.

How it Happened
- The Blazers jumped out to a 21-10 lead in the first 10 minutes, with the Wang twins each hitting a pair of 3-point field goals during the run. Mason Wang's second 3-pointer just over five minutes into the action moved him past Santo Provenzano '06 into second place on Hood's scoring chart.
- York fought back into the game and trailed just 27-23 after Mark Rachic connected from 3-point range with 5:16 on the clock. The Blazers stretched the lead back to 10 before settling for a 35-31 halftime lead after Colin Rimel hit a 3-pointer in the final minute.
- The Spartans cut Hood's lead to just two to start the second half before the Blazers went on a 15-3 run, featuring seven points from Mason Wang. Hood limited York to just 1-for-6 shooting with five turnovers over the stretch of over five and a half minutes. Wang scored the final bucket of the run to make it 50-36 with 14:08 remaining in the game.
- Hood still led by 14 after Wang tied the record just over 30 seconds later, but the Spartans had chipped the lead to single digits when Wang's record-setting 3-pointer made it 55-43.
- He later scored seven points in an 18-6 run that grew the Blazers' lead to 75-55 with 3:31 left to put the game out of reach.

- Hood went 9-of-18 on 3-point field goals in the second half to end the night 16-for-42 (38 percent).
- The Blazers limited York, who played with just eight players, to only 36 percent shooting overall.
- Hood had 21 assists on 29 made field goals. The Blazers also committed only seven turnovers, while forcing the Spartans into 15. The result was a 24-4 edge in points off turnovers.
