How it Happened

  • Arcadia opened the game on fire hitting its first six shots and seven of its first eight but the Bulldogs kept pace and trailed by just six (24-18) at the 8:59 mark of the first-half.
  • The Knights then went cold and DSU took advantage finishing the first-half on a 19-2 run over the final nine minutes to take a 37-27 lead into the locker room.
  • AU chipped away at the margin getting to within four points several times to start the second-half and cut it to three at the 13:15 mark.
  • DeSales responded scoring eight straight points that saw four different Bulldogs score and junior Keba Mitchell meet Jared Chambliss at the rim on a dunk attempt that was ferociously denied spurring a lay-up on the other end.
  • Arcadia refused to go away however pulling within five points twice with the last coming at 57-52 with 5:42 remaining.
  • Freshman Mason Barnes answered with a 3 and leading by seven with 3:06 to go, DSU scored seven straight points, including five straight from senior Timmy Edwards, to take a 14-point lead and never looked back from there.

  • Edwards finished with a game-high 26 points on 12-for-17 from the field and pulled down seven boards.
  • Barnes had another strong night with 17 points and handed out four assists.
  • Freshman Elijah Eberly stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks off the bench.
  • Sophomore Aidan Ellwood added nine points and Mitchell blocked three more shots in another strong defensive effort.

For the Foes

  • Da'Kquan Davis led Arcadia with 24 points before fouling out.
  • Gabe Kier had 12 tallies and Johaan Vinson finished with 11.
