AURORA, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team picked up a fifth consecutive win by slowing down Aurora on the road in the opener of a weekend series.

Benedictine led for nearly the entire contest, scoring the first nine points of the contest
Chris Hester scored the first four points of the game
A three-pointer from Keegan Graebner pushed the lead to double figures at 14-4 with 14:51 to play in the first
The hosts pulled within three points at 31-28 late in the half but Marvin Agwomoh opened a 9-0 run to again push the lead to double digits, scoring four straight
A three from Trevor Montiel made the score 38-28 with 1:42 left in the first and Agwomoh capped the run with a dunk
Benedictine led 41-32 at halftime but Aurora came out strong to start the second half, using an 8-0 run to lead for the first time at 49-48 with 12:17 to play
Benedictine took the lead for good on a layup from Montiel with 8:59 left
A free throw from Michael Johnson in the final minute again pushed the lead to double figures at 76-66
Aurora came into the game averaging 91 points per game, best in the conference, but Benedictine leads the conference in scoring defense

Benedictine finished the game shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and held a 38-29 edge on the glass
Benedictine was able to overcome 21 turnovers and scored 42 points in the paint
Agwomoh led the team in scoring for a second consecutive contest, finishing 9-of-10 from the field to total 19 points off the bench, adding eight rebounds
