SCRANTON, Pa. - The Rangers erupted for a 21-2 run over a 6:50 stretch late in the second half and rallied for big 73-70 Landmark Conference (LC) victory at Scranton Wednesday evening.

The Rangers (19-5, 10-3 LC) entered the night in a three-way tie with Scranton and Susquehanna for first place in the conference standings, but are now tied with only Susquehanna, who defeated Moravian on Wednesday. Drew can clinch a home Landmark Conference playoff semifinal with a win over Catholic on Saturday.

The win was Drew's first at Scranton since 2013, snapping a six-game skid in the Electric City.

Senior guard Riley Collins scored a game-high 25 points, including his team's last five, and dished out seven assists for the Rangers while junior forward Lybrant Robinson added 20 points while shooting 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Sophomore guard David Gervase added 12 points - all in the second half - while junior forward Malachi Walker, Jr. grabbed seven rebounds.

Matthew Mancuso paced Scranton (17-7, 9-4 LC) with 22 points, 18 rebounds, and five assists.

The Rangers trailed 57-46 with 10:36 remaining before embarking on their big run. Junior guard Miles Lewis kicked it off with a 3-pointer before Gervase dropped in a lay-up with 9:38 left to make it 57-51.

Neither team would score for nearly three minutes before Collins scored on a fast break to cut the gap to four. Collins then converted a conventional 3-point play to pull the Rangers to within one with 6:15 remaining.

Scranton broke its scoring drought on a Mancuso lay-up with 5:54 to go, but Drew answered with three-straight 3-pointers and a dunk to go up by eight (67-59) with 3:46 left. Robinson sandwiched a pair of 3's around a Gervase triple before a slam from Walker.

The Royals came right back with a 7-1 run to tie the game at 68-all with 1:43 to go. But that's when Collins drained a big 3-pointer to give the Rangers a lead they would not relinquish. Logan Bailey made it a one-point game when he hit a pair of free throws with 23 ticks showing, but Scranton was forced to foul and Collins answered with a pair of free throws to set the final score with 13 seconds left.

Scranton called a timeout with three seconds left, but Kyle DeVerna's deep 3-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark.

Neither side led by more than six in the first half, which featured five ties and a pair of lead changes, and it was a 30-30 game at the break. But Scranton opened the second half on a 14-5 run to push its lead to 11, setting up Drew's big comeback.

The Rangers close out the regular season on Saturday, when they host Landmark Conference foe Catholic at 2 p.m. on Senior Day.
