LOS ANGELESRyan Kaneshiro made big plays at both ends of the court, the Tigers defended well and made their free throws at the end to seal it in a 62-51 win over Chapman at Rush Gym on Wednesday night.

Kaneshiro, the SCIAC's leader in assists 6.8 per game, came up big in the scoring column, finishing with 20 points on 10 for 16 shooting, to go along with six rebounds, six assists and no turnovers.

Chapman's game plan was real clear: Take away leading scorers Jacob Adler and Caleb Yellin-Flaherty and make someone else beat them. Kaneshiro answered the call in 37 minutes played, scoring 14 of his points on 70 percent shooting in the second half.

Adler held Chapman leading scorer Hayden Moore to just two points and scored 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting, Yellin-Flaherty had 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists, and Kyle Dosa had six points, three rebounds and two assists.

Anthony Hollerich gave Oxy 28 big minutes off the bench, scoring four points, with three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Evan Dray grabbed three rebounds.

Season Impact: Oxy improves to 14-4 overall and 6-3 in SCIAC.

Chapman falls to 12-6 and 4-5.

Next Game: The Tigers have the weekend off and then are back in action at Redlands on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m.
