Hamilton College's Kena Gilmour '20 dropped in 22 points and the Continentals posted a 91-64 non-conference win over the SUNY Geneseo Knights at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Monday afternoon.

The nationally ranked No. 22 Continentals (10-2 overall) led 42-37 at the half but shot 58.8 percent (20-34) from the floor in the second half including 7 of 15 from 3-point range. Hamilton scored 24 points off 20 Geneseo turnovers and the Continentals enjoyed a 40-13 advantage in bench points.

The Knights (3-6) held an eight-point lead early but faded down the stretch. Geneseo shot 29 percent (9-31) from the field in the second half and went 11-for-22 at the free-throw line for the game. The Knights are 0-2 in the SUNYAC this season.

Gilmour is seventh on Hamilton's all-time list with 1,659 career points and is second in the NESCAC with 23.0 per game. Mark Lutz '20 nailed three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points. Lutz is shooting 42.4 percent from beyond the arc this season.

Eric Anderson '22 led the Continentals' bench brigade with 10 points. Nick Osarenren '22 chipped in eight points and topped the team with eight rebounds and four steals. Osarenren is averaging more than two steals per contest. Nkosi Cooper '23 contributed eight points, four assists and three steals. Elliott Tirbaso '22 scored eight points and Vince Conn '21 handed out four assists.

Joe Harclerode and Michael Gannon paced Geneseo with 14 points and seven boards apiece. Alex Merhige registered 12 points and two blocked shots and Harrison Dignan and Elijah Wingfield were credited with three steals apiece.

The Knights made 6 of their first 10 shots from the field and jumped out to a seven-point lead at 15-8 less than five minutes into the first half. Hamilton scored the next 11 points and didn't trail again. Gilmour converted an old-fashioned 3-point play, Tirbaso drained a 3-pointer and Conn canned another one. Osarenren's steal and slam dunk made it 19-15 with 10:27 left.

Anderon's jumper with 3:59 remaining gave the Continentals their first double-digit lead at 36-26. Another Osarenren steal set up a fast-break opportunity that ended with a thunderous dunk by Anderson and handed Hamilton its largest lead of the first half of 11 points at 39-28 with 2:09 to go. Gannon scored 12 of his 14 points in the opening 20 minutes.

After a layup by Geneseo's Terrance Nichols pulled the Knights within six at 45-39 in the opening minute of the second half, the Continentals responded with a 20-2 run that put the game away. Gilmour started the spurt with a deep 3-pointer and Lutz added a driving layup. Geneseo's Aaron Davis powered into the lane for a bucket before Spencer Kendall '21 made a hook shot in the lane.

Gilmour sliced to the basket for a layup and Cooper added a pair of buckets from close range. Osarenren swished a 3-pointer from the top of the key and Gilmour capped the run with a steal and pass ahead to Conn for a layup that made it 65-41 with 12:16 left. Hamilton's lead fluctuated between 19 and 29 points the rest of the way.

The Continentals play their first conference game this season on Friday, Jan. 10 when Williams College comes to Margaret Bundy Scott Field House for a 7 p.m. start.
