STORM LAKE, Iowa (November 16, 2019) - Senior Timothy Jeffries scored game-high 26 points and grabbed six rebounds, DJ McNeal added 19 points and the Buena Vista men's basketball team moves to 4-0 on the season with a commanding 103-68 non-conference home victory over Fontbonne University on Saturday afternoon inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.

Jeffries had himself another efficient shooting game, going 8-of-11 from the field overall and sinking all eight of his free-throw attempts.  McNeal was 6-of-10 and made all five shots from the charity stripe.  As a team, the Beavers continue to take advantage of their free-throw attempts, going 25-of-28, and are leading the A-R-C at 81 percent for the year.

BVU came out shooting well from the opening tip, making 58 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes and building a 54-31 lead at the break.  The defensive effort continued to put pressure on the Griffins all game long, allowing just eight second chance points and 3-of-12 from downtown.  Fontbonne didn't help itself throughout the contest, making only 19-of-37 at the free-throw line.

The Beavers were able to play all 17 players in the game with 13 of them scoring at least two points.  It got 44 points from its bench in the contest overall as it went over the century mark for the first time since a 108-78 home victory over Central on February 8 of last season.  It's also the team's fourth straight home victory dating back to last season and the first 4-0 start to the year since beginning 8-0 back in 2004-05.

BVU will continue its home schedule when it hosts Crown College (1-2) on November 20 in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m.
