Sewanee Men’s Basketball Ends Season in NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Sewanee men's basketball team finished the 2019 season at the opening round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championships with a 97-59 defeat over Guilford Friday night at the Ragan-Brown Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Quakers posted an 11-0 lead with 17:49 left in the opening half.

-The Tigers went on a 7-4 run to cut the deficit to single digits, but the hot start kept the Quakers ahead of the game.

-For the game, the Quakers shot 37-of-65 (56.9 percent) from the field and 14-of-26 (53.8 percent) from beyond the arc.

-The Tigers were never able to get into a rhythm, as they posted a 33.8 percent mark from the floor.

-The Purple and Gold wrapped up the 2019 SAA Tournament Championship with 22 wins, the second-most in program history.

-Sewanee played in its first NCAA Championships for the first time since 1998.

-Jordan Warlick led Sewanee with 14 points and five rebounds.

-Hunter Buescher added 11 points for Sewanee.

GUILFORD KEY STATISTICS
-Marcus Curry led the Quakers with 17 points, while Kyler Gregory added 13 points and 11 boards.
