Roger Williams opened up an 11-point lead early in the second half before the Bison ripped off a 41-20 to open up a 10-point advantage (79-69) with less than seven minutes remaining. A pair of free throws by J.J. Pfohl with 1:09 remaining brought the Hawks to within one (83-82), but free throws from Bruton, classmate Jerome Cunningham, and freshman Jaekwon Spencer held off the Hawks final push.

Quote
"I'm happy with the way we responded after being down at halftime. We picked up our pressure and were able to generate offense through out defense. DeAnte really sparked us with a special second-half performance." -Nichols head coach Scott Faucher
