MARCY, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost to hosts SUNY Poly 75-68 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game on Wednesday night.

All five starters scored for Keuka College (7-9, 4-5 NEAC). The Wolves were led by David Oliveras (Great Mills, Md. / Great Mills) with 16 points. Ryder Mansfield (Concord, N.C. / Charlotte United) scored 15 points and Trevor Powell (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn) added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

SUNY Poly 75 vs. Keuka College 68

Keuka College took the lead early against the Wildcats, however the Green and Gold would never lead by more than two points in the half. Overall, the lead changed hands eight times in the first 20 minutes. SUNY Poly swung the half on a 9-0 run in the final minutes. The Wildcats pushed the lead to double-digits in the final minutes and led 34-23 at the break.

The Green and Gold came out strong in the second. A three by Sam Brown (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) cut the margin to five as he pump-faked to get his defender in the air. The senior stepped around him and hit a three to make it 38-33. The Wolves would continue to battle in the half, but would never be able to cut the lead below five. Brown hit another three in transition for the Wolves with 3:42 left to bring the game back to five at 67-62. Ryder Mansfield banked a jumper in on the next possession as the lead was cut to three. That would be as close as the Wolves would make it. SUNY Poly held on to defeat Keuka College 75-68.

KC Notes:

  • Keuka College falls to 9-24 all-time against SUNY Poly. The Wolves are 1-13 on the Wildcats' home floor
  • Sam Brown hit four threes for the Wolves, scoring 12 total points. The senior set a new season-high in scoring
  • The four threes by Brown were the only three-pointers of the game for Keuka
  • Trevor Powell went 5-5 from the free throw line. He tied Greg Tyler for fourth on the career free throws list at Keuka

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold remain on the road this weekend with a pair of conference games. The Wolves will first face the Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Abington on Saturday and then travel to SUNY Cobleskill to play the Fighting Tigers on Sunday.
