Elijah Hannah and Tom Madison each scored 14 points off the bench to lead No. 7-ranked St. Thomas to a 72-45 win at Carleton in MIAC men's basketball play in Northfield. The Tommies secured a conference playoff berth with seven games to go.

The Tommies had only six turnovers, had a 38-11 advantage in  bench points, and made eight 3-point baskets. They pushed their win streak to 17 games -- the program's best in 10 seasons, and tied for the current lead among D-III teams with Augustana and UW-Oshkosh.

Connor Bair added 10 points and five boards.

The Toms are 9-0 in January, including five victories over the last 11 days. They close the month Wednesday at home against Macalester.
