GALLOWAY, N.J. – Sophomore guard Domenic Mignone(Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) scored a career-best 27 points and Myles McLeod (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) posted his second double-double of the season, but William Paterson men's basketball (11-9, 6-7 NJAC) could not overcome a large first half deficit as the Pioneers fell at Stockton (9-11, 7-6 NJAC), 69-60, Jan. 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After back-to-back layups by Mignone gave the Pioneers a 4-0 lead at 17:37 of the opening stanza, the Ospreys blew the game wide open following a 22-5 run that span 12 minutes and took a 32-17 edge into the locker room.
  • With Stockton ahead by 18 (56-38) late in the half, WP began to make its move. Mignone's three-pointer capped off a 21-8 Pioneers' burst that cut the deficit to five, 64-59, with 2:08 remaining. However, Stockton made enough defensive stops down the stretch to escape with the conference victory.
