JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Domenic Mignone (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) and Anthony Uribe (Hackensack, N.J./Bergen Catholic) both scored in double figures as the William Paterson men's basketball team (11-8, 6-6 NJAC) fell on the road to New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival New Jersey City (14-5, 9-3 NJAC), 71-58, Jan. 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Despite connecting on just 10-of-38 attempts (.263) from the field and 1-of-5 from the free throw line in the opening stanza, WP was able to keep it close and trailed 27-21 after 20 minutes.
  • In the second stanza, it was all Gothic Knights as the home team buried 51.7 percent (15-29) of its field goals attempts while forcing 11 Pioneer turnovers en route to the 71-58 conference victory.


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Mignone scored a team-high 18 points and added six rebounds in 21 minutes, while Uribe contributed 10 tallies, his third straight game scoring in double digits.
  • WP outrebounded NJCU by a 49-37 margin, including a 19-8 advantage on the offensive glass which led to 11 second chance points.
