Hamilton College's Kena Gilmour '20 dropped in 18 points and the nationally ranked No. 7 Continentals cruised to a 68-43 non-conference win against the SUNY Geneseo Knights at Geneseo's Schrader Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Hamilton (15-1 overall) allowed a season-low 43 points and held its opponent under 50 for the second game in a row. The Continentals outscored the Knights 38-16 on points in the paint and enjoyed a 51-27 advantage on the glass. Geneseo (4-10) shot just 24.5 percent from the field as the Knights lost their sixth straight game.

Gilmour, who leads the NESCAC in scoring with 20.4 points per game, was 8 of 12 from the floor including a couple of dunks. Peter Hoffmann '19 chipped in 11 points and four assists, Tim Doyle '19 scored eight points, and Nick Osarenren '22 grabbed eight rebounds.

Elijah Wingfield paced Geneseo with 10 points and four steals in 19 minutes off the bench. Joseph Harclerode III pulled down eight boards.

Hamilton held the Knights without a field goal the opening five minutes of the first half as the Continentals built a 6-1 lead. Geneseo countered with an 11-2 run and, after a Alex Merhige free throw, held a 12-8 edge with 11:21 left.

A layup by Andrew Groll '19 and an Osarenren 3-pointer put Hamilton back in front 13-12 with 10:09 remaining. Terence Rogers found Merhige for a basket from close range and the Knights took their last lead at 14-13 with 9:42 to go.

The Continentals went ahead for good with a 13-0 spurt that covered the next four minutes. Mark Lutz '20 started the run with a basket from beyond the arc, Gilmour made a steal and dunk, and Sayo Denloye '20 followed with another steal and layup. Doyle knocked down a long-range jumper and Eric Anderson '22 capped the run with another 3-pointer with 6:00 left.

Geneseo didn't closer than nine points the rest of the way. Hamilton ended the half with a 9-0 run and took a 41-23 cushion into the break. Gilmour finished the half with 13 points as the Continentals shot 53.1 percent.

Doyle opened the second half with a 3-pointer and gave Hamilton its first 20-plus point lead at 44-23. Gilmour's old-fashioned 3-point play with 6:31 remaining put the Continentals up 63-33. A layup by Elliott Tirbaso '22 opened up Hamilton's largest lead of 31 points at 68-37 with 3:00 to go.

The Continentals return home to Margaret Bundy Scott Field House for a conference game against 13-2 Amherst College on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m.
