AURORA, Ill. – ArShawn Parker scored 34 of his career-high 38 points over the final 13 ½ minutes as Albion College stormed back from 20 points down to stun Aurora University, 83-77, in non-league men's basketball action Wednesday night.

With the victory, Albion takes a 6-3 record into its holiday break. The Britons return to action with a Dec. 28 contest against Grove City (Pa.) College in the opening round of a two-day tournament at Bluffton University.

Parker made his final 13 shots of the game. Three of his baskets were layups immediately following a steal.

"I've been around basketball for a long time and I've never seen anything like it," Albion Head Coach Jody May said of Parker's performance. "Without ArShawn we were in trouble. He gave us the spark we needed and we started playing harder – playing defense and getting some stops.

"Give credit to our guys for getting stops and rebounds, something we weren't doing in the first half," May added.

Aurora led 58-38 on Bailey Vance's 3-point basket with 15 ½ minutes left.

The teams traded empty possessions until Caden Ebeling followed a layup miss by Jamezell Davis, Jr. That ignited a 14-5 run by the Britons, but they still trailed 63-52 midway through the second half.

Parker scored on Albion's next four possessions, capped by a steal and layup, to pull the Britons within three, 63-60, with eight minutes left.

Aurora scored on consecutive possessions to maintain a five-point lead, but Parker would not let the Britons down. Parker scored on three more possessions, including a 3-point basket, as Albion tied the score at 70 with five minutes left.

Albion outscored Aurora, 13-7, over the final 4 ½ minutes to compete the comeback. Parker scored seven in a row – four free throws and a 3-point basket – as Albion led 77-73.

Zachary Winston and Nathaniel Collins made free throws and Parker added a layup in the final minute of regulation.

Almost lost in Parker's remarkable night was sophomore Caden Ebeling, who completed his second double-double of the week with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He connected on 6-of-8 shots from the field.

• Albion shot 54 percent from the field (29-of-54) for the game. It was Albion's second-highest field goal percentage of the season, and it was the fourth time Albion has shot at least 52 percent in a game
• Albion shot 89.5 percent from the free throw line, its second-best of the season
• At one point in the second half, Parker scored 25 consecutive points for the Britons
• Parker's previous career scoring high was 18, set on the road against Hope College last February
• Parker has scored in double figures three times this season and had not since Nov. 17 (he had 13 in the season opener against Case Western Reserve University and 10 against Kenyon College)
• Parker is tied for 25^th among NCAA Division III players for most points in a game this season. He was 15-of-17 from the field, so his 88 percent shooting is 18^th-best by a D-III player this season.
• Davis stuffed the box score with nine points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block.
