GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wesley College men's basketball team began their weekend North Carolina trip on Saturday with an 88-81 win over the Greensboro Pride.

Trailing by six at halftime and by eight with 10:38 to go in regulation, Wesley stormed ahead of Greenboro in the latter part of the game. Wesley used an 18-6 run and Greensboro's foul trouble to take the lead over the Pride. During the run, Wesley forced five Greenboro turnovers and stole the ball four times.

Brian Cameron put the Greenboro lead within one when he scored on a driving layup and was fouled with 7:06 to go in the second half. He converted the and-one to tie the game at 76.

On the ensuing Greensboro possession, Carmoni Marks missed a three-pointer. Derick Charles pulled the defensive rebound down and was fouled to force Charles to the line. Charles made one of his two free throws, but it was enough to give Wesley the lead that they would never relinquish.

As a team, Wesley dominated the low post. Wesley outscored Greensboro 50-24 in the paint and outrebounded Greenboro at a 43-27 clip.

Cameron would lead all scorers with 27 points. Cameron also pulled down a team-high six rebounds. Charles netted 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Charles added five rebounds and two blocks.

Brandon Lewis notched 15 points on 5-of-8 from the field with five rebounds. Evan Anderson recorded nine points and four steals. Tyrone Craven dished out a career-high 11 assists along with five rebounds in the win.

Moe Goin came off the bench to chip in with 10 points and four rebounds. Terrence Braxton also grabbed five rebounds off the bench.

Justin Minnis led Greensboro with 21 points off the bench.

Wesley (2-3) will be back in action tomorrow when they wrap up their North Carolina trip against the William Peace Pacers. Tip is scheduled for 1 p.m.
