DOVER, Del. – Wesley College senior guard Evan Anderson became the 14th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark in a career in Wesley's 95-56 victory over the Lancaster Bible Chargers in their home opener on Tuesday.

After the teams battled back-and-forth to open the game, Wesley got out to a big lead behind a 33-8 run to end the first half.

The run was highlighted by Anderson's 1,000th point. Tyrone Craven stole the ball with just over a minute left in the first half. He dribbled up the court and past it ahead to Anderson waiting in the corner. Anderson pulled up the three-pointer and drained the and-one for a four-point play.

As a team, Wesley shot 51.6 percent (33-64) from the field, including 13-of-26 from beyond the three-point line. Wesley outrebounded Lancaster Bible on a 54-30 clip, scored 36 points off the bench and in the paint.

Four players picked up double figures in the win. Anderson led the way with 18 points. He knocked down 4-of-7 from the three-point line and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. Anderson added four assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Brian Cameron tallied 15 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Derick Charles played well in the paint, scoring 13 points and pulling down three rebounds and blocking a shot.

Off the bench, Moe Goin netted a season-best 11 points with seven rebounds. Dasir King dropped eight points while Terrence Braxton and Tavian Strobridge recorded six points apiece. Braxton and Christian Chaney each grabbed five rebounds.

Craven notched seven points, six assists, and four rebounds. Brandon Lewis had a team-high eight rebounds along with six points, five assists and two steals.

Alex Whitt and Britton Beachy each had 12 points for Lancaster Bible.

Wesley (1-3) will be back in action this Saturday when they start a two-game North Carolina weekend swing against the Greensboro Pride. The game is set for a 3 p.m. start.
