ALBION, Mich. – Albion College is riding a four game winning streak for the first time since February, 2017 after scoring a 97-85 victory over Heidelberg (Ohio) University at Kresge Gymnasium Tuesday night.

The Britons won five in a row against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals down the stretch in 2017.

MJ Barnes hit a pair from 3-point range and Jaylin Fordham added a pair of baskets in the paint as Albion ripped off a 12-point run after surrendering the first six points of the game.

Jamezell Davis, Jr. scored two baskets in the paint and a free throw as Albion extended the margin to 41-31 with two minutes left in the first half.

Albion maintained a 10-point lead at halftime as Juwan Perry sank a shot from ¾ court as time expired.

Davis scored five points and Fordham knocked down three free throws as Albion extended the lead to 56-38 just two minutes into the second half.

Heidelberg's press defense gave Albion some fits in the backcourt, but the Student Princes were never able to get within 12 points.

"Heidelberg makes it hard because they are relentless," Albion Head Coach Jody May said. "We turned it over, but didn't give up baskets."

May was pleased with the Britons shot selection. The Britons finished shooting 53 percent (32-of-61) from the field.

Davis led the Britons with a career-high 31 points, hitting 12-of-19 shots from the field. Fordham was Albion's other double figure scorer, finishing with 18.

The starting guards received support as the bench chipped in with 24 points. Nathaniel Collins got to the free throw line six times and finished with eight points. Ryan Lowe and ArShawn Parker added six points apiece.

Albion continues non-league play with a Dec. 1 game at the University of Evansville.
