Millikin Men’s Basketball Scores Road Win

          The Millikin men's basketball team picked up a road victory defeating Principia College 96-76 in Elsah, Illinois on November 10.

          Millikin lead 46-44 at halftime. In the second half, the game was tied 60-60 with 14:26 left in the game. The Big Blue then went on a 12-0 run to add lead 72-60 with 9:23 remaining. Millikin was up 79-65 with seven minutes left the game and the Big Blue used an 11-4 run over the next three minutes to seal the victory.

          Millikin shot 16-28 (57 percent) in both the first and second half. The Big Blue hit on 8-11 (73 percent) from three point range in the first half and made 3-7 (43 percent) in the second half. Principia hit on 50 percent from the field and made 8-18 (44 percent) from three-point range. Millikin dominated in the rebounding battle 37-14.

          Freshman Jake Hampton led the Big Blue with 21 points. Hampton was 7-9 from the field including going 4-6 from three-point range. Senior Elijah Hampton scored 16 points and grabbed a team high seven rebounds. Senior DaVante Harrell and freshman Calvin Fisher each scored 15 points. Fisher was 5-7 from the field going 3-3 from three-point range.

          Michal Paulson led Principia with 31 points followed by Trevaughn Goodman with 24.

          Millikin is now 2-0 on the season while Principia falls to 1-1.

          Millikin plays at Coe College on November 12.
