BONACUM, FORD LEAD RAMAPO OVER RUTGERS-CAMDEN 75-55

Camden, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team posted a 75-55 NJAC road win over Rutgers-Camden University tonight behind a double-double from Thomas Bonacum. The Roadrunners improve to 18-5 overall and 14-2 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors drop to 3-19 overall and 1-15 in the conference.
 
Ramapo opened the game on a 6-0 run when Josh Ford started the game with a layup before Nick Stanek and Christopher Moseley hit back-to-back shots. Stanek took a pass from James Long for a layup to give Ramapo their first double digit lead 14-4 before they used an 11-0 run to take a 33-17 lead with less than five-minute left in the half. Jordan Zagadou contributed with six points during the run before Marcus Taylor nailed a three-pointer for Rutgers-Camden. Ramapo would score the final four points of the first half as Moseley scored back-to-back baskets taking a 43-28 lead into the locker room.
 
Rob Lewis opened the scoring for the Roadrunners in the second half with a jumper to take a six-point lead 45-28 before Ian McCarthy sank a three-pointer for the Scarlet Raptors, cutting the lead to 45-31. Ramapo went on a mini 6-0 run when Matt Latka posted two layups and Bonacum nailed a jumper as they extended the lead 65-44 with less than nine minutes to play. Rutgers-Camden went on a 6-0 run of their own cutting the lead to 65-50 with 5:38 on the clock before Ramapo used an 8-0 run to take their biggest lead of the game. Moseley started the run with a layup before Lewis capped it off with a free throw for a 23-point lead 73-50 with 2:17 left on the clock. The Scarlet Raptors added five points to their total down the stretch before Travis Bennett scored the final points for Ramapo with a layup as the Roadrunners won on the road 75-55.
 
Bonacum led the way with 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists while Ford posted 11 points and four rebounds. Moseley added nine points, six rebounds and two blocks while Rob McWilliams and Matt Latka each contributed with eight points. Long added five points, five assists and four rebounds in the game. Ramapo shot 51% (32-62) from the field, 25% (3-12) from the three-point line and 61% (8-13) from the free throw line.
 
Charlie Riccardi led the Scarlet Raptors with 13 points while Anthony Harris added nine points of his own. Vincent Anfield and Marcus Taylor each posted seven points in the game while Ian McCarthy contributed with six points. The team shot 29% (16-54) from the field, 27% (10-36) from the three-point line and 92% (13-14) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, February 10th when they travel to NJAC rival New Jersey City University for a game at 3pm. NJCU is ranked #1 in the Atlantic Region while the Roadrunners are ranked #3.
