Battle of Lexington: Baruch Defeats Hunter (61-50) in Defensive Battle

The Baruch College Bearcats were able to complete a sweep of the Battle of Lexington with a 61-50 victory over rival Hunter College Hawks on Thursday night.

After trailing in the opening minutes, the Bearcats took control and led by five at halftime (28-23) after Jack Sixsmith stole a pass and assisted to his brother william Sixsmith for a long distance three that brought the boisterous crowd to its feet in the final second. This was the turning point of the game as the Bearcats came out in the second half on fire and controlled the rest of the game.

The victory was John Alesi's 100th career win as the Head Coach of the Bearcats.

Chimaechi Ekekeugbor led with another double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. Bryler Paige led all Bearcat scorers with 16 points, while William Sixsmith finished with 14 points.

For Hunter, George Keener had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Amer Lukac also had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
