Senior forward Ryan Boll scored 21 of his game-high 27 points in the second half and added nine rebounds to lead the host Tommie men's basketball team to Monday night's 94-69 home win over Carleton in MIAC play at Schoenecker Arena.

St. Thomas (13-8 overall, 11-5 MIAC) improved to 7-1 at home this season, pushed its win streak to four, and moved into sole possession of third place in the conference with four games to go in the regular season.

The Toms had only nine turnovers, shot 58 percent from the field, and had a 39-25 rebounding edge.

Carleton hit a 3-ponter at the buzzer to close the first half on a 7-2 run to cut the UST lead to 41-36. The Knights rallied to take a 51-50 lead five minutes into the second half. But Boll (nine points) and freshman guard Ryan Lindberg (eight points) led a 22-5 run that built the lead to 16 points with 8:55 to play.

The Knights (12-9, 10-6) received 19 points from Kent Hanson, and 11 points and seven boards from Kevin Grow. Carleton converted only 19-of-35 at the foul line (just 10 of their first 25) in a game where 50 fouls were whistled.

Lindberg scored a career-high 19 points to lead a 40-16 advantage in bench points for UST.

The Tommies have scored 316 points in their last three games, all victories. 

St. Thomas plays Wednesday night at Augsburg, and Saturday afternoon at St. Olaf.
