Millikin Men’s Basketball Wins Over North Park

          The Millikin men's basketball team won its second straight game defeating North Park University 80-63 on January 31 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois.  Millikin evens its season record at 10-10.   

Millikin lead 40-33 at halftime.  The Big Blue never trailed in the second half with its largest lead of the game being 18 points.  Millikin shot 65 percent from the field including going 7-16 (44 percent) from three-point range.  North Park shot 43 percent and hit on 9-24 (37.5 percent) from beyond the arc.  Millikin won the rebounding battle 28-23. 

          Zach Fisher led the Big Blue with 23 points, four rebounds and two assists.  Michael Beaty had 14 points, three assists, three rebounds at two steals.  Elijah Henry had 13 points and a team high six rebounds.  DaVante Harrell had eight points, six assists and four rebounds.

          Colin Lake led North Park with 22 points.  Matt Szuba added 17.

The Big Blue are 3-8 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play.  North Park falls to 4-15, 1-10.

          Millikin will travel to Carthage College on Saturday, Feb. 3.
