Britons come up short at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – Despite a 67-62 loss at Adrian College Wednesday night, Albion College remained a game behind in the chase for the last berth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball tournament.

The game was closely contested throughout, with neither team leading by more than seven.

Ryan Lowe produced two baskets as Albion reeled off a 6-0 run to lead 42-36 with 14 minutes left.

Jeremy Kalonji and Jordan Harris hit from 3-point range as Albion forged a tie at 42.

The teams traded the lead seven times until Adrian went in front on Kalonji's 3-point basket that made the score 58-56 with less than five minutes left.

Albion got within a point twice – on 3-point baskets by Jamezell Davis, Jr. and Quay Burks – but it couldn't get the lead.

Quinton Armstrong led the Britons with 14 points and seven rebounds. Davis finished with 11 points and Wheeler added 10 points and five assists.

Adrian had four starters score in double figures. Justin Webster produced a game-high 17.

Albion (7-13 overall, 4-6 MIAA) completes the week with a 3 o'clock Saturday game at Alma College.
