LaPLUME, Pa.—Keystone College didn't have an answer for Gwynedd-Mercy's inside-outside game in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up Monday evening at the Gambal Athletic Center.

Senior Will Davis, a 6-7 forward, bullied his way down low for 27 points and nine rebounds and sophomore guard Rich Dunham and senior guard Rip Engel combined for 40 points as the Griffins improved to 14-2 overall and moved into a first-place tie with Cabrini University in the CSAC with a 9-1 mark.

Keystone, which fell to 7-9 overall and 6-4 in the CSAC, was led by junior guard Mark Perry with 22 points on 9 of 10 shooting from the field and sophomore center John Kirkpatrick added 17 points.  The Giants, who fell behind 51-35 by halftime, also received 15 points from sophomore guard Austin Smith and nine points, three rebounds and two assists from freshman guard Jaylen Nuckles off the bench.

The Griffins took command of the game midway through the first half with 25-10 run to turn a 20-13 lead into a 22-point cushion with 3:18 remaining.  The Giants twice cut the margin to 14 before Gwynedd-Mercy settled for a 16-point halftime lead.

Davis scored 16 points in the opening 20 minutes of play and Dunham and Engel combined for 23 as the Griffins shot 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from beyond the 3-point arc, and 80 percent from the free throw line.

After Perry opened the second half with a lay-up, the Giants got a spark from Smith, who drained a 3-pointer to cut the gap to 11, 51-40, with 19:15 left.  Keystone, however, was never able to get the Griffins' lead under 11 the rest of the way and fell behind by as many as 29 with just under four minutes left.

Keystone shot a respectable 47.5 percent from the field, but was just 7 of 26 from the 3-point arc (26.9 percent).  The Giants also struggled from the free throw line, connecting on just 14 of 25 attempts (56.0 percent).

Gwynedd-Mercy also pressured the Giants into 16 turnovers, which it converted to 21 points.  The Griffins also turned 11 offensive rebounds into 16 second-chance points.

Keystone will close out a two-game CSAC home stand this Wednesday, January 24, against Marywood University at the Gambal Athletic Center starting at 8:00 p.m.
