GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Albion College men's basketball coach Jody May has implored his team to share the ball.

The Britons responded Saturday as five players all had two assists as they walked out of VanNoord Arena with a 69-61 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Calvin College.

"We were unselfish offensively, played great team defense and rebounded as a team," May said.

Corey Wheeler and Jaylin Fordham hit 3-point baskets and Ryan Lowe added two baskets as Albion went on a 14-0 run to build a 19-7 lead midway through the first half.

Albion would never trail again as it led by as many as 17 in the second half.

Calvin got as close as six in the second half, and it had the ball to trim the margin even more, but the Knights misfired from the field.

Nathaniel Collins matched his season-high with 17 points, and Caden Ebeling produced his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Albion (5-12 overall, 2-4 MIAA) will play at home twice next week. The Britons have a Wednesday night game against Hope College and next Saturday afternoon against Olivet College.
