KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Jaylin Fordham led Albion College on a 7-0 run midway through the second half as the Britons repelled Kalamazoo College, 68-61, in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action.
Quinton Armstrong and Corey Wheeler scored on the first two possessions of the second half as Albion forged a 39-29 lead.
The Britons were unable to hold the lead, however, as Ben Reiter hit a pair from 3-point range and Jack Smith added five points to send Kalamazoo to a 45-43 lead with 15 minutes to play.
The Britons trailed 46-44 when Fordham went on the run that would give them the lead for good.
Albion led by seven, 57-50, on Caden Ebeling's basket with 5 ½ minutes left.
Kalamazoo got within three with 3 ½ minutes left, but Albion slammed the door behind an Ebeling jumper and two baskets by Wheeler.
Fordham, who was 6-of-10 from the field, produced a season-high 17 points for the Britons. Ebeling and Wheeler chipped in with 15 and 14, respectively.
Four Kalamazoo starters scored in double figures, led by Tanner Blyly with 16.
Albion (4-11 overall, 1-3 MIAA) travels to Trine University for a MIAA game Wednesday night.
