DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Jason Kenny netted 24 of his 30 points in the second half to lead defending Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom champion Misericordia University to an 84-75, come-from-behind victory over host Delaware Valley University.

The Cougars (9-6, 4-0 MAC Freedom) scored nine of the game's first 11 points but back came the Aggies (2-13, 0-4) as they followed with a 25-12 run for a 27-21 advantage with 8:13 left in the half. Willie Britton sparked the home squad as he came off the bench and had 11 points in the spurt.

Misericordia pulled to within two, but DelVal eventually took a 37-32 lead into the intermission. Britton had 17 points in 18 minutes, thanks to 5-for-7 shooting from the field (1-for-2 from 3-point land) and 6-for-7 from the foul line.

The Aggies had their lead cut the three just three minutes into the stanza, but a 14-8 run bumped the advantage to 56-47. The lead did go to 10 before a 3-point play by the Cougars' Tre' Fields made it 59-52.

Things then got crazy with 12:37 left on the clock as multiple technical fouls were called, including the second in the game on the bench as head coach Willie Chandler was ejected. DelVal hit three free throws in the situation to go up 10.

However, the ejection fired up Misericordia and, three minutes later, it cut its deficit to one, 65-64. The Aggies' Autstin Chabot was fouled while shooting a three and he hit all his free throws. An Alex Mastsinye layup then made it a 70-64 ballgame with 6:38 left.

The Cougars rallied and a 3-pointer by Stone McCreary capped a 9-2 spurt and gave them a two-point lead. Kenny extended it to five with a three-point play. Andre' Butler hit one free throw for DelVal, but six straight free throws from Kenny put the game away.

Fifty-one fouls and six technical were called in the game, leading to 81 free throw attempts. Misericordia was 35-for-41 from the line while the Aggies were 28-for-39. Kenny was 17-for-18 from the charity stripe and well as 6-for-12 from the field for his 30 points. He also had a game-high 11 rebounds. Fields, Tyerell and Noah Rivera had 12 points apiece.

Britton finished with 18 points to pace DelVal. Damian Washington had 13 points and five rebounds off the bench while Matsinye had 11 points and five boards. Robinson and Chabot added 10 and nine points respectively.

The Aggies will travel to Manhattanville College for a MAC Freedom game on Wednesday, January 17 (6 p.m.).
