Medgar Evers Outlasts Baruch in CUNYAC Action

The Baruch College Bearcats lost a nail-biter to the Cougars of Medgar Evers College, 69-65, in a CUNYAC contest on Wednesday night in Brooklyn, New York.

The Cougars led throughout the second half by managing to build 12 point (44-32) and 11 point (52-41) leads, but the visiting Bearcats rallied all the way back to take a one point lead (62-61) on a jumper by Andre Harris with 4:21 remaining. 

The two teams were tied twice in the final 1:07, including 65-65 after another Harris basket, but the Cougars clinched the win with a game-busting three with five seconds left by Maurice Swaby III and a free throw in the final second by Basheeru Camara to score the last four points for the 69-65 win.

The Bearcats received 33 total points from their bench, but the Cougars shot better from the field at 44 percent (22-for-50).

Harris led four players in double-figure scoring in the tough loss with 15 points and three steals. 

Joancarlo Bonilla led the hosts with 28 points.
