Timothy Jeffries scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds while brother David Jeffries turned in 18 points and five assists, to help lead the Buena Vista men's basketball team to a huge Iowa Conference road victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday night, 91-75.

Timothy Jeffries was 6-of-9 from the field and made 7-of-10 from the free-throw line en route to a season-high in points.  David, meanwhile, was 7-of-11 from the field, including a perfect 2-of-2 from both long range and the charity stripe.  He grabbed five boards and tied for the team lead with five assists.  Connor Winkelman chipped in with 11 points and four assists while Thomas Wisecup had another all-round performance with nine points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Billy Sparks turned in 15 of BVU's 17 bench points in the contest.  He was aided by a 3-of-7 effort from downtown and also grabbed four rebounds, dished out five assists and chalked up four steals.

The Beavers shot 50 percent from the field, including 8-of-20 from downtown.  Defensively, it held the Prairie Wolves, who came in averaging better than 101.0ppg, to a season-low in points and just 36.4 percent shooting.  NWU came in shooting 51.9 percent from the field which ranked sixth in Division III.

NWU came out strong in the early going of the contest, building an early 24-9 lead just seven minutes into the contest.  BVU settled down from there and used a 33-13 run over the final 13 minutes to take a 42-37 halftime lead.

The Beavers came out clicking on all cylinders in the second half and quickly pushed the advantage up to double-digits for the first time at 51-41 on a pair of free-throws from Timothy Jeffries.  Winkelman later hit a three-pointer that put BVU in front 58-45 at the 15:00 mark, and the Beavers never let go of that double-digit lead the rest of the way.  The margin grew to as many as 21 midway through the half, and NWU was unable to get any closer than 15.

Ryan Garver led Nebraska Wesleyan with a game-high 24 points, including 5-of-10 from downtown.  Deion Wells-Ross was a rebound shy of a double-double at 15 points and nine boards.

BVU has matched its season-best win streak of five games and improves to 10-2 on the year (3-0 IIAC) while the Prairie Wolves, who were the preseason favorites to win the IIAC title, suffer their first loss of the season (11-1, 2-1 IIAC).  The Beavers are now tied atop the league standings with 18th-ranked Wartburg College (10-2, 3-0 IIAC).   BVU hosts Central College (5-8, 2-2 IIAC) which fell on the road to the Knights on Wednesday, 80-65.
