The Millikin men's basketball team rolled to its third straight win defeating Principia College 89-72 at the Griswold Center in Decatur, Illinois on December 30. The victory gives Millikin an 8-4 overall record and the Big Blue finish the non-conference portion of its schedule going 7-2. Principia falls to 3-7 on the season.
The Big Blue led the entire game going to the halftime locker room up 46-36. Millikin's largest lead was 22 points, which game late in the second half. The Big Blue shot 52 percent from the field and went 11-24 (46 percent) from three-point range.
Principia shot 42 percent and made 9-25 (36 percent) from beyond the arc. The Big Blue dominated the glass winning the rebounding battle 47-24.
Millikin got a career high 30 points from Zach Fisher who went 8-12 from three-point range. Elijah Henry had a double double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. DaVante Harrell also posted a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds along with six assists. Harrell's marks were Big Blue career highs for rebounds and assists. Tyler Pygon added nine points for Millikin.
Michal Paulson led Principia with 19 points followed by Parker Davidson with 17 and Trevaughn Goodman with 16.
Millikin returns to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Wednesday, January 3 when they travel to North Park University in Chicago.
