Four members of the Pacific University men's basketball team scored in double figures in an 82-79 loss to Principia in its final game of the Hoops in Hawaii Holiday Classic in Hawaii.

The Boxers' (8-2) Brevin Brown scored a team-high 21 to lead Pacific for his fourth 20+ point effort on the season. He was joined in double figures by Nate Olowo (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.), who had a double double for the second-straight night with 13 points and 13 rebounds, Davis Holly (Bend, Ore.) added 15 and R.J. Collins (Hollister, Calif.) added 12.

The Panthers (3-6) were led by Trevaughn Goodman, who recorded a game-high 34 points in the win. His 34 points are the most a Pacific opponent since Thomas Rico of George Fox also scored 34 in a 108-101 double overtime win on January 29, 2016. Playing just seven players, three more were in double figures for Principia. Parker Davidson added 18, Micah Paulson and Brennan Paulson scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The game was tied for the first time at 16 before Brown put Pacific ahead for the second time in the contest. Twice after building leads of four points, the Panthers came back with five-straight points to regain the lead, 23-22 with 4:02 left in the first half.

The Boxers answered the spurt with a 9-2 run to take the lead for the remainder of the first half. Pacific held a lead as large as eight, 36-28, when Brown hit a 3-pointer with 1:46 left in the first 20 minutes.

Pacific remained in front for the early minutes of the second half before the Panthers came back with a 7-0 run to take a 56-55 lead with 11:19 left in the contest. The game went back and forth for the next four minutes until a 6-0 spurt by Principia over a 1:16 span put the Panthers ahead for the remainder of the contest.

The Boxers rallied to cut the deficit to one, 79-78, when Brown made a layup with 1:13 to go. After a missed layup by the Panthers, a Boxers' 3-pointer attempt came up short with :39 to go and Principia made three of its four final free throws to seal the win.

Next, Pacific will host Elmhurst in its final non-conference game on Friday, Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. After that contest, the Boxers will return to the rigors of Northwest Conference play where they will travel to face No. 1 Whitman (Fri., Jan. 5) and No. 7 Whitworth (Sat., Jan. 6)
