NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Fans in attendance at a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference meeting between Earlham College and Manchester University Saturday, Dec. 9, got their money's worth and more.

The Spartans and Quakers combined for nearly 180 points (177) due to both hitting better than 50 percent from the field and above 75 percent at the free throw line. Earlham managed to claim a 91-86 decision behind a 42-27 rebounding edge that created 21 second-chance points.

Despite suffering a sixth-straight loss that dropped them to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference, Coach Gerad Good's team did get more balanced scoring. Junior guard Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) upped his double-digit string to 14 with 22; junior guard Justin Lukens (Herrin, Ill.) tallied 20 for his top total in a Black and Gold uniform; senior forward/center Enis Becirevic (Fort Wayne, Inf.) just missed a double-double tallying 13 points and nine boards; and senior forward Kenny Doss, Jr., (Chicago, Ill.) wound up with 12 points and five rebounds.

Manchester University resumes HCAC action Saturday, Dec. 16. They travel to Rose-Hulman's Hulbert Arena in Terre Haute. Game time is 4 p.m.
