ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Visiting Nazareth outscored RIT 9-4 in overtime Thursday to rally past the Tigers to an 80-75 men's basketball victory at the Tigers' Clark Gymnasium.

The game was part of day one of the second annual Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. The Golden Flyers, 4-1 overall and still playing without junior guard Brendan Wind, will play again Saturday against 17^th-ranked Rochester at 6 p.m. RIT will play St. John Fisher at 8 p.m. Both games will be played at RIT.

Sophomore Cody Green scored 15 of his team-high 17 points in the second half to help fuel Nazareth's comeback. Juniors Tyler Stenglein and Jake Burgio each added 14 points and freshman Kevin Underwood emerged from the bench to score a career-high 12 points.

The game was tied 71-71 at the end of regulation, then baskets by Burgio and Stenglein and a couple of strong defensive stops vaulted Nazareth to a 75-73 lead. Stenglein, who struggled from the perimeter most of the night (5-for-20 from the field), then hit his first three-point basket of the season with :48 left and the shot clock winding down, to extend Nazareth's lead to 78-73. RIT's Jaymee Rosser hit two free throws, then Stenglein canned two foul shots for Nazareth to seal the thrilling hard-fought win.

Tigers led 11-2 in the first three minutes and were up by as many as 12 points in the first half as Nazareth struggled from the perimeter, making just 12 of 38 shot attempts (31.6 percent) in the first 20 minutes. Green was among the most frustrated Flyers as he was held to two points on 1-for-6 shooting.

Nazareth closed to within 32-30 before the Tigers finished the half on an 8-1 scoring run to go up 40-31 at the break. Robert Aguilera scored 13 of his points and grabbed nine of his rebounds for RIT in the first half.

Green heated up for the Golden Flyers in the second half by hitting four three-pointers to keep the game close as he finished with a team-high 17 points.

It was two free throws by Underwood that brought Nazareth to within one, 65-64, with 2:57 left. An RIT turnover on the next possession resulted in a basket for Nazareth's Chris Jones and a free throw for Stenglein with 2:23 left to give the Golden Flyers their first lead of the game at 67-65.

The teams exchanged buckets with RIT regaining the lead, 71-69, on short jumper by Troy Pierre-Lewis with 1:04 left. Out of a timeout, Jones delivered an offensive rebound and the put-back bucket to force overtime.

Stenglein finished with 12 rebounds in addition to his 14 points. Jones grabbed 11 rebounds and freshman Stephen Gabel had nine points and eight boards.
