How It Happened
• The Bobcats got off to a great start coming off their Saturday upset of #17 Christopher Newport. They opened up a 12-7 lead less than four minutes into the game as the pace was frenetic early on. The Bobcats held the lead for the next three minutes but the Spartans erased the lead on a Joey Polczynski lay up with 12:32 left in the first half. The teams would trade the lead six more times over the next three minutes as the Bobcats led 23-21 midway through the opening half.
• The Spartans embarked on a 23-4 run, turning a two-point deficit into a 44-27 lead with 3:25 left in the half. The Bobcats cut the Spartan lead to 14 but the Green and White scored seven of the final nine points of the half to take a 53-34 lead to the break. It's the fourth time this year the Spartans have scored 50 or more points in the first half of a game.
• The Green and White came out of the break and pushed their lead to a game-high 24 points on a Jared Wagner triple three minutes into the second half. The Bobcats started slowly chipping away at their deficit. Frostburg used the next six plus minutes to get the Spartan lead down to single digits as Darren Campbell hit a three, cutting York's lead to 68-59 with 11:17 left in the game. York responded with a quick 7-0 run highlighted by a Blayde Reich three-point play followed by a pair of Dalton Myers' lay ups to push the lead back to 16.
• Frostburg State made another final run at the Spartans as they cut the lead to 11 on a pair of Tyler Michael free throws with 3:52 left in regulation. York responded with lay ups from Wagner and Darin Gordon to quickly push the lead back to 15. It would not fall below 13 the rest of the way en route to the 17-point victory.
