Keuka College Falls to Stockton 77-50

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost to Stockton University 77-50 on Saturday in the Semi-Finals of the Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown Tournament at the University of Rochester.

Keuka College (2-2) was led by Trevor Powell (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn) with 15 points and eight rebounds. Cliff Stevens (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa) also had eight rebounds to go with his seven points. Dylan Doupe (Phoenix, N.Y. / John C. Birdlebough) added eight points for the Wolves.

Stockton University 77 vs. Keuka College 50

After a slow start by both teams, Stockton made the first basket of the game 2:44 into the first half. Trailing 4-0, Ryder Mansfield (Charlotte, N.C. / Charlotte United) got Keuka College on the board with a three-pointer at 15:54. It would remain a one-point game, 8-7, when Stockton went a 9-0 run. Following a Dylan Doupe jumper, the Ospreys score 10 unanswered to take a 27-9 lead over the Wolves. Keuka College put together an 11-0 run in just over two minutes of play late in the first half. Trevor Powell had six of the 11 points in the run for the Wolves, narrowing the Osprey lead to 31-24 with two minutes left in the half. Stockton scored the final seven points of the half to lead 38-24.

Stockton University continued their run with seven more points to start off the second half. A baseline jumper by Matt Estes (Watkins Glen, N.Y. / Watkins Glen) stopped the run with 16:38 left in the game and the Ospreys leading 45-26. Midway through the first, Keuka College put a five-point run together, but they were unable to put a dent in the margin. A majority of the Wolves' points came from the free throw line as Keuka went 14-22 from the charity stripe in the half. Stockton University would continue onto the 77-50 victory over Keuka College.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will face SUNY Canton in the Consolation Game of the Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown Tournament. It will be the sixth meeting between the Roos and Wolves. The two teams last met in the 2011-12 season with SUNY Canton defeating Keuka College 67-49.
