BABSON PARK, Mass.—Sophomore Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) poured in a career-high 45 points as Endicott College defeated No. 7 Babson College, 90-80, in the championship game of the Babson Invitational Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Staake Gymnasium.

With the win, Endicott improves to 2-0, while Babson slips to 2-1 on the year.

Senior Bradley Jacks (Fort Washington, Md.) scored a season-high 28 points on 11-of-17 to lead four players in double figures for the Beavers. Classmate Nick Comenale (New York Mills, N.Y.) finished with 19 points and eight rebounds, while junior Brandon Johnson (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and first-year Graham Dolan (Williamsville, N.Y.) each chipped in with 11 points. Senior Chris Lowry (Union, Conn.) dished out a career-high 10 assists in the loss.

Brown, who scored 38 points in Saturday's win over Regis, went 15-of-25 from the floor and knocked down 10 three-pointers for the second consecutive game on his way to earning Babson Invitational Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors. First-year Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) finished with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists, while classmate Jordan Pettway (Bridgeport, Conn.) chipped in with 11 points for the Gulls.

The Green and White knocked down seven of its first nine shots and led by as many as six early in the first half before Endicott caught fire from beyond the arc. The Gulls took their first lead at 18-17 on a triple by Pettway and got 11 points from Brown as part of a 24-6 run that extended the margin to 39-23 with 7:06 to go in the period.

The Beavers pulled back within seven on a jumper by Jacks at the 4:15 mark, but Del Ricci, Brown and Pettway knocked down the last three of Endicott's 14 first-half triples as part of an 11-2 spurt that pushed the lead back to 53-37 at the break.

Babson worked its way back into the game with a 25-6 run over the first seven and a half minutes of the second half. Jacks and Comenale combined for 16 points, senior Tim Hasbargen (Munich, Germany) drained a pair of three-pointers, and Dolan canned a three from the right wing following a Jacks' offensive rebound to give the Green and White a 62-59 lead with 12:28 remaining.

The Beavers' edge was short lived though, as Brown took over, scoring 11 straight points to give the Gulls a 78-71 on a three-pointer with 4:44 to go. Babson got as close as six on a pair of free throws by Jacks with 4:08 left, but a hoop by Pettway and a four-point play by Brown extended the Endicott lead back to 85-73 less than a minute later.

The Green and White shot 45.3 percent and connected on a season-high 14 three-pointers. The Beavers also finished with a 39-34 edge on the glass.

The Gulls shot 44.3 percent for the game and were even better from deep, drilling 19-of-39 trifectas and scoring 15 points off of 15 Babson turnovers.

Babson returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Becker at 2 p.m., while Endicott hosts Middlebury next Sunday at 2 p.m.
