Baruch Starts Season With Road Win at Kean (85-67)

Chimaechi Ekekeugbor (8-12 fg) notched a double-double (26 points, 17 rebounds) and Andre Harris scored 24 points in his Bearcats' debut to lead the men's basketball team to a season-opening 85-67 road victory against Kean University in Union, New Jersey.

The Bearcats broke an early tie at 16 by scoring 20 of the next 29 points to take a comfortable 36-25 lead into intermission. 

The Cougars on two different occasions during the second half managed to get as close as five points, but the Bearcats shut them down for the win.

Overall, the team shot 43 percent (27-63) and won the battle of the boards with a 44-38 margin.

DeAndre Thomas led the hosts with 25 points and five steals.
