MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Feb. 12, 2017) – Hampered by 27 turnovers that led to 35 points, the Sewanee men's basketball team dropped a 113-97 contest at rival Rhodes, Sunday, inside Mallory Gymnasium.

Sewanee's offense did play well for the majority of the game. The Tigers made 56.4 percent of their shots while connecting on 7-of-13 three-point attempts. Pressured by Rhodes's full-court press, the Lynx took advantage of some easy offensive opportunities after Sewanee turnovers. With that, Rhodes made 66.7 percent of its shots. That included 60 points in the paint.

After falling behind by as much as 26 points late in the first half, Sewanee battled back in the final 20 minutes. The Tigers outscored the Lynx 55-50 in the second half.

Individually, Brody Stone led Sewanee with a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double. Classmate Jorden Williams also finished with 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting while senior Clay Born added 18 points.

Ian Harrison led Rhodes with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Tyler Gee also finished in double figures with 13 points despite making only two field goals. Gee did finish with nine free throws.

The other three Lynx in double figures were Daniel Darst (12 points) along with Mitch Weatherford (11 points) and Jake Nestlehutt (11 points).

Sewanee returns to action with a 3:00 p.m. contest against Centre, Saturday.
