FREDERICK, Md. - Scott Bolen scored 25 points to lead a Hood College offense that shot 57 percent from the floor in a 75-63 Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth victory over Widener.

- Bolen knocked down 9 of 13 field goals in the game and converted six 3-pointers.
- The Blazers' .569 mark from the field was the team's highest since sinking .574 against in January 2014. The team went 12 of 26 3-pointers in the victory (46 percent).
- The hot-shooting resulted in 21 assists, the most since Hood had an equal number in February 2014.
- Daniel Wegener came off the bench to lead the Blazers with seven rebounds. Trevor Magnuski, Tanner Ruths and Jared Ruiz each had four assists. Magnuski, Ruths and Michael Riley all had three steals.
- Hood's scoring balance continued as 11 different players found their way into the box score.
How it Happened
- A 3-pointer by John Fender pulled the Pride within 17-15 with 11:45 left in the half, but Hood (12-3, 4-3) scored the next 12 points to build a 29-15 lead. Bolen scored the final five points of the spurt, including a 3-pointer for a 14-point lead with 7:27 remaining.
- After leading 38-31 at halftime, the Blazers opened the second half with an 18-4 run. Another 3-pointer from Bolen made it 56-35 with 13:43 to go. Hood led by as many as 23 in the second half, after a Kobe Butler layup made it 64-41 with 8:35 left in the game.
- The Pride pulled within nine on two occasions down the stretch, but could get no closer.
Notes
- Fender did his best to keep Widener (7-8, 2-5) in the game, finishing with 24 points. Sam Smith added 17 points. Both players hit five 3-pointers as the Pride went 13 of 27 from distance (48 percent) in the game. Sardayah Sambo blocked five shots.
- Hood held a 37-27 rebounding edge. The Blazers' bench outscored Widener's 33-3. Hood also held a 34-14 advantage on points in the paint.
