Patchogue, N.Y. - Tied 68-68 with 56 seconds remaining, FSC sophomore guard Ali Mableton (Brentwood, N.Y.) hit a layup to put the Rams ahead by two. Sophomore guard Matthew Graham (Valley Stream, N.Y.) hit 3-of-4 free-throws down the stretch to lead Farmingdale State to a 73-71 road victory at St. Joseph's-LI on Wednesday night.

The Rams (8-5, 4-0) held a 33-30 lead with 2:44 remaining in the first but the Golden Eagles (3-10, 3-2) closed the half on a 10-2 run and took a 40-35 advantage into the break.

Farmingdale State opened the second half with an 8-0 run over the first 4:56 to regain the lead, 43-40.

Trailing 49-44 with 11:24 remaining, St, Joe's-LI scored seven straight points including five from senior guard Andy Laurent (Amityville, N.Y.) to open up a two-point advantage, 51-49.

After a Laurent jumper gave the Golden Eagles a 59-58 lead with 5:11 left to play, Mableton answered with a layup and free-throw to put FSC back on top by two.

Tied 61-61, Mableton converted his second consecutive three-point play with a jump shot and free-throw to give Farmingdale State a three-point edge with 3:28 remaining.

Leading 66-65 with 1:45 left, FSC's Liam Monaghan (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) hit a jumper before Laurent connected on a 3 to tie the game at 68-68. Mableton and Graham converted down the stretch to seal the 73-71 road conference victory.

The Rams had four players score in double-digits led by Mableton's 16 on 6-of-10 shooting. Graham added 14 points, while Monaghan had 12 points and three assists. Sophomore forward George Riefenstahl (Bayport, N.Y.) pitched in with 12 points and eight boards in the win.

The Golden Eagles were led by senior guard Fernando Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Laurent who scored 19 and 17 points, respectively.

Farmingdale State next will play host to Sage in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, January 14th at 2:00 p.m.
