TOWSON, MD – Junior Elliot Wiley led the Goucher men's basketball team (3-11, Landmark 0-3) with 15 points in a 75-61 loss at home to Juniata College in the Decker SRC Arena Wednesday evening.

Seniors Chris Outing and Tre Galloway III scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, while freshman Dwayne Morton chipped in with 11 points – a career-high for the young guard. Outing and Morton led Goucher with four and three rebounds, respectively.

Freshman Keon Butler led the Gophers with five rebounds in 22 minutes of play.  

Juniata's junior forward, Marcus Lee, led the team with a game-high 19 points and six rebounds. Fellow junior Seth Brewer led the team with five assists.

How It Happened:

• The first half remained tight with neither team earning more than a five-point lead over the other. 
• Goucher snagged the lead from the Eagles with 8:57 to go, however, lost the advantage two minutes later on a jump shot from Juniata's Dennis Fisher. 
• As the opening half came to a close, the Eagles held a 27-23 lead. 
• Juniata shot 60.0% (12-of-20) in the first period, while the Gophers nailed 34.8% (8-of-23) of their shots.
• Goucher was outrebounded 15-9 in the opening half.
• In the second half, the Gophers brought the game within two points with 16:48 to go before the Eagles rattled off an 8-0 run. Back-to-back three-point shots brought the Gophers back within four, 41-37.
• Juniata pulled back the momentum down the final stretch to earn their first Landmark victory of the season 75-61.
• The Eagles shot 66.0% (31-of-47) over the course of the game, compared to Goucher's 47.7% (21-of-44) shooting.
• The Gophers were edged in points in the paint (42-16), fast break points (10-2) and bench points (21-15).
